Revisional Breast Surgery
Revisional breast surgery refers to any surgery done on the breasts to correct a deformity that has occured after the initial breast augmentation (or previous lift, or previous reduction) procedure. Reasons for breast surgery revision after implants include capsular contracture (hardening of breast capsule around the implant, which can cause pain, distortion, or asymmetry), drooping of the breast, malposition of the implant (implant no longer sitting where it used to), implant rupture or leak, or desire to change the type (silicone vs saline) or size of the implants. Revision after previous lift or reduction may also be performed.
